FAQs
Are your products suitable for historic buildings?
Yes, lime products are frequently used in building conservation and would be suitable for a historic building. If you would like a consultation to discuss this, please get in touch.
What are the benefits of using lime products on new build properties?
There are many benefits. Firstly a traditional lime mortar is far more attractive than sand and cement, it may also be possible to remove the need for unsightly movement joints. Sustainability is also an important consideration. Lime uses far less fuel to manufacture than cement, it therefore gives off less CO2 in production and, unlike cement, it also reabsorbs a high percentage of that CO2 when curing.
What would you recommend to go onto a timber lath externally?
Our Cartesian Lime Type 1 has been tried and tested for this. These plasters / renders are lightweight, vapour permeable and extremely flexible, as well as easy-to-use.
